Two hungry alley cats hatch a plan to score a meal by running “the old raffle game.” They offer a turkey as the prize and convince Doc to pick a ticket, not knowing there is only one, which of course makes him the winner. The cats send Doc to a nearby house to claim the prize, but the turkey is locked in a refrigerator guarded by a tough watchdog named Cecil. Doc makes several failed attempts to outsmart the dog, while Hickory and Dickory only make things worse. Doc finally manages to grab the turkey by putting roller skates on Cecil, but the dog crashes through the door and ruins the cats’ long-awaited feast.

Pig in a Pickle

Milford, the family pig, is being given a birthday party, on the farm, by Maw and Paw and all the kids, but he is kidnapped by one of the 39 Boomer Brothers on the neighboring farm, who want to make bar-b-que out of Milford. Maw and Paw set out to rescue Milford, but they are thwarted by the red-bearded brothers. But victory finally comes and Milford comes home to celebrate his birthday.

The Flying Turtle

In this entry in Universal-International’s “Foolish Fable” series (U-I production number 8327), Herman the Turtle’s only ambition is to be able to fly. He reads articles on the subject and also enrolls in Madam Bluejay’s Flying School, all of which leads to failure. He pays an eagle to give him flying lessons but the eagle drops him in the ocean and kills him. But Herman goes to Turtle Heaven where he is given a pair of wings and flies to his content. The “Be careful what you wish for” moral goes unstated.

During a square dance, held on a dog’s back, celebrating the upcoming marriage between a boy and girl flea, a city-slicker flea shows up and kidnaps the girl to the big-city. The boyfriend follows and rescues her from the villain’s penthouse apartment.
